Looking Ahead

It’s New Year’s Day 2016 and I’m looking forward to what comes next.

I want to keep this year simple. I want to foster what I have and get stuff done. So with that in mind here are my resolutions.

1. Write more. – I’ve tried in the past to quantify writing goals but have decided that only stymies me. I shouldn’t feel pressured to do what I love. So I’m just going to tell myself to write more.

2. Read more. – It is rather appalling how little I read in 2015. I want to read more this year. Again, no numbers, just a simple resolve to do it.

3. Exercise more – This one will unfortunately be quantified by my health insurance provider, but since they are also providing a Fit Bit, I’m not going to expend too much brain power on it, and also, I purchased a treadmill about a month ago that I’m finding very conducive to this simple goal. I can even read while using it.

4. Social Media more. – What does that mean? It means not letting my blog, Twitter, and Facebook go fallow for long stretches of time.

5. Promote more. – I need to spread the word a bit more. Hiding under a rock does not appear to sell books. That’s a shame. I rather like my rock.

And that’s it. I’m cutting it off at five because as I wrote at the start, I want to keep things simple. And if I make any further resolutions, I'll just pull myself in too many directions and fail all of them. I'm, though, that I can get these five done.

Do you have any resolutions? What are you looking forward to?

I decided not to make resolutions this year, I never keep them. Instead I set "goals" for myself. Write more, read more, spend more time with my man doing fun stuff like going out, move, walk more, play more video games, and draw more. A lot, but I need a life lol.

I'm looking forward to some movies coming out this year, any books you might put out this year, the new Crossfire book coming on in March or May (I forget now, but it is almost 4am for me lol), and seeing what this year has in store for me (hoping it's better than last year). ^_^

Yeah, I'm not sure about the benefits of resolutions, but improvement is all I'm after so hopefully I can achieve a little of that in 2016.

I"m looking forward to a few movies myself. I admit the Deadpool movie fills me with sick glee. I'm in the mood for some slick carnage.

I'm looking forward to seeing what I can achieve in 2016 as well. I'm a little wiser and a little more relaxed. I think it's going to be good.

Thanks for all of your comments and beta help in 2015. You are a treasure.

I know what you mean. I want to improve myself more, but I want to do it without pressuring myself to do so.

I got curious and was looking at movies coming out this year and I saw a few that interest me and a couple I’m super excited about. The Huntsman: Winter’s War, Alice Through the Looking Glass, and Finding Dory(not sure yet if I think this one will be funny or stupid or both lol) sound interesting. I’m mostly excited for Fantastic Beast and Where To Find Them, The Secret Life of Pets, and Independence Day Resurgence I’m most most excited for.

Same here. ^_^

You’re very welcome and I still wish I could have been better help on the last one. Hoping this year that I have less depression and stress so I can do more of things I want. Awe, you’re so sweet.

I just saw mention of Fantastic Beasts. I haven't watched a full trailer, but it was mentioned to be in the Harry Potter universe as a prequel sort of thing? I am curious about that.

I'm not fully sure what the movie will be like yet, but I know she wrote 2 of Harry's "school books" (I have both). One was about Quiddich and the other was "Fantastic Beast and Where to find them" I just know the film was "inspired" by the book. From what I have found out so far it's based in New York about 70 years before Harry's story starts.
So I'm excited to see what they've done with it. Downside is unless we move before it comes out, I'll have to wait until it's out on DVD/BluRay before I can watch it. No theaters here.
